And I see your point. I guess personally I don’t like saying “people work for me”. I don’t like using the word “staff” either. Just a personal preference. But I do know I work for and report to the GM. | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: The word "peer" implies an equal. In the world of capitalist employment, a CEO is not the equal of the fellow emptying the trash cans from the office building. At least not in the real world. In a courtroom jury, however, ALL citizens are peers/equals be they CEO or mail carrier. The plain reality is every OPA employee works for the General Manager. There is nothing wrong with working for someone or for some company. Workers are what made this country great. I see this semantical notion of a CEO person saying he/she works "with" those at the very lowest of the pay scale as political correctness, or a distinction without meaning. When I was working for someone I knew I was working for them, whether they said I was working with them or not. PS -- I love these discussions. |
