We had all the moose meat and potatoes we could eat. Maine is famous for its lobsters of course but we never saw one. Lobster country was a 4 hour drive South. We were so far North that we had perpetual clearance to enter Canadian airspace on take off since by the time we had gear up, we were Canadian. | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: SAC was a love - hate relationship, sorry to leave but glad to be gone! I still stay in touch with several of my squadron buddies, we had a reunion a few years ago in O.P. that I hosted. We all remember the good times but the bad times are just a distant memory....who can ever forget "Bombs Away With Curt LeMay"? Loring sounds like a not so nice station, West Texas was HOT in the summer, April through October but the winter was mild for the most part. We only had to shovel our way through the Bacardi Rum and Jose Cervera Tequila bottles, only cost $0.75 for a liter bottle across the bridge in Old Mexico. Ah...those were the days! |
