I could agree with that scenario but do you agree that the existing infrastructure when changed should be upgraded for the new outfall?
I think we need to do what we can, within reason, to eliminate the flooding. For example, let's do a new design to take the water down Beauchamp Road. Possibly base the sizing on a 25 or 50-year storm rather than a 100 year to reduce costs. Whatever we do should be based on a solid plan that will solve the problem, not throwing money around in stages with no final outcome planned. As for the fully comprehensive plan it was done 10 years ago just not sure where it went. Well, if that is the case why did we pay an engineer to do another comprehensive plan, a plan that was doomed from the beginning because there was no firm commitment that we could use some new pond on the old golf course for discharge? The answer, of course, is the latest comprehensive plan would be much cheaper -- assuming it was viable. It was not, unfortunately. More money down the drain. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I could agree with that scenario but do you agree that the existing infrastructure when changed should be upgraded for the new outfall? The plan I have been talking about did have Bainbridge pond being enlarged, by how much I cannot remember so yes you are correct on pointing these things out. As for the fully comprehensive plan it was done 10 years ago just not sure where it went. |
