"That is what this new project was intended to do. The idea was to run the water into another pond across Beauchamp Road on the old golf course property. That option, the basis of the entire project, is no longer available. No more water can be run into the River Run Pond."
Joe, why is the old golf course not an option for water run off? We were told houses are to be built on the old golf course so maybe the plan is to build a pond and still pipe water into it from OP. Just saying,..where there is a will..there is a way. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: The same place it always has went! This is not exactly a flood issue it’s a time issue! After about 3-5 tide cycles that area drains well! Infrastructure needs replaced so why not plan for the future? Well, it always went to deep flooding in that area, waist deep as I think you mentioned. The Commissioner Bunting blessed OPA with a freebee, a pipe under Beauchamp Road to pond on River Run. Still flooding in OP but not as deep. To reduce the flooding in OP further, on a quicker basis, will require getting more water out of OP faster. That is what this new project was intended to do. The idea was to run the water into another pond across Beauchamp Road on the old goldf course property. That option, the basis of the entire project, is no longer available. No more water can be run into the River Run Pond. So.. I ask again, where will the increased outflow from OP go when we do phase 1 but we have no place to send the water because we have now zero places to run the water to under phase 2? |
