My experience is the same as yours, Joe. We'd show up around 4-4:30 hoping to get a bar stool and often just 1 or 2 people were there.
Last summer the fall off was dramatic. Maybe sodel can fix it. If they fail the situation is hopeless. I hope they don't try a cottage cafe clone. That would be DOA IMHO. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Good grief, Joe, would you please stop touting the place formerly known as the Pizza Hut as the new gold standard of restaurants. Gold standard? Not hardly. Just a restaurant within the Ocean Pines subdivision that attracts a fair number of lunch and dinner customers for inside dining when the Yacht Club does not. Of course, the Yacht Club is now closed since keeping it open would apparently mean a fair loss of money as so few people choose to eat there. Sorry if mentioning that in discussions about the Yacht Club's lack of lunch and dinner customers offends you. You show up at a place just as the doors are unlocked and look around and say where is everybody? Of course not. The place was essentially just as empty when we left around 1:30 pm. Or are you suggesting the Yacht Club inside diner crowds are the hours between lunch and dinner? What is your personal experience with how many inside lunch diners are at the Yacht Club when you have lunch there? |
