That WBAL news story is typical of what you can expect from media sources these days. The plants are closing "for financial reasons" Which are?? Cost of coal? Cost of needed upgrades? If upgrades, are they needed for efficiency or for safety or for increased requirements for smoke stack emissions. Details, details.
The Obama administration put out requirements for increased emission abatement that resulted in older plants deciding that it required such massive expenditures that it would be less costly to close them down. In response to protests, that administration said, "That's your choice, not ours. Nothing to see here, just move on.". |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Moore definitely wants these coal plants closed but I'm not sure what is exactly happening.
