Joe:
Not political! A budget is only a best guess of future revenue and expenditure in order to establish an assessment amount to cover same. I would be surprised if the suggested and not budgeted $62,300 will cover the cost to repair the floor, but I am hopeful. This is not political. I like to think we are on the same team, I just have a different opinion as to budget development than some. Example of where you and I disagree. The 2024-2025 budget is showing over $800,000 surplus with only two more months to go and yet you supported the 2025-2026 budget with an additional assessment increase of more than $200,000? I didn’t and don’t. Marty |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Ok, but I can’t find that $50,692 authorized in the 2024-2025 or 2025-2026 budget? So what? The budget is not the Bible, or a document that restricts doing anything except what is in the budget. Sorry But that dog won’t hunt. Management was dealing with this problem over three weeks before the budget vote was required and could have provided a good number for the 2025-2026 budget, oh, and with an $800,000 surplus on the books through February there wouldn’t be any need to increase the the assessment. My understanding is, even now, there is some discussion going on about whether the proposal for Saturday meeting is the proper approach. The issues you raise are political issues, certainly not legal issues, as far as I can see. |
