That $9 million is a significant hit,
Add in the expected current year losses and the total is closer to $12 million, of which about $116,000 is the current year loss at OP. There is zero OP area loss in the initial $9 million. A woman at the meeting last night suggested the Commissioners take $12 million out of the General Fund and pay off all the debt. That would truly be outrageous. Why should all the taxpayers in Worcester County outside the 11 service areas pay for losses they have nothing to do with? Great move. Have some family in a small home on a working septic system foot the sewage treatment losses at Glen Riddle, one of the most expensive developments in then County. You can't make this stuff up. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: ...that won't go through without a fight.... Seems the battle lines are now drawn. And attorney Bruce Bright is off to a good start. Why should all those other other communities be picking the pockets of all the Ocean Pines folks ??? Especially the more affluent community like Riddle Farms ?? That $9 million is a significant hit, on top of already very high water/sewer rates here. |
