And that brings up the point do we need 29,000SF in addition to the square footage at the Community Hall. I don't think so. Then a lot of people will vote on the new referendum using the same arguments as on the 2005 referendum - do we need all this space. And to think had the BOD done their job and moved this project forward in a timely manner instead of totally botching it, there wouldn't be another referendum. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: If we don't have a decision on the future use of that building, we don't know what it would cost to improve that building to perform that purpose. What purpose? Does anyone have any idea what purpose the community hall will serve when, and if, a new CC is built? Absolutely not. Part of the selling point for the new CC was the CH would cost $1.5MM vs. $3.9MM for a new 29,000SF building. Now that it looks like we will keep the building, what will it cost to fix and what will it be used for seems relevant. The new CC is now $5.4MM fixing the old is $1.5MM the lots will come in at least $1MM short leaving a balance of $2.5MM. Maybe they can say we'll fix the roof and turn the community hall into more meeting space. And that brings up the point do we need 29,000SF in addition to the square footage at the Community Hall. I don't think so.
