If you have some factual information that the currently proposed project can be built for less than $5.4 million, please share it with all of us. The issue is not if the CC it can be built for less than $5.4M, because it can depending upon what one wants. The real issue is are we getting our moneys worth for what we're being charged? Are we really getting a $5.4M building. Will this really be a $5.4M enterprise when finished or will it be simply an enclosed Butler building with OPA paying $5.4M for it? If they wait any longer the cost will increase because of the upcoming hurricane season. Then we can listen to the Katrina II excuse at future BOD meetings. If people don't care whether OPA gets what it pays for, maybe OPA could go to Delaware, purchase a large pole building, maybe two or three double-wides, join them all together and call it our new CC. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I have also said in prior posts that my biggest worry is that we might be spending $5.4M for a building which will not be anywhere near a $5.4M building. We are not getting what we're paying for. Hummm. More hyperbole based on no factual information. If you have some factual information that the currently proposed project can be built for less than $5.4 million, please share it with all of us. |
