He said we could save ourselves a lot of money because of waterfront properties.....???? He is saying that as a municipality waterfront properties would pay taxes based on value. Since waterfront property is more valuable than non waterfront they would pay more. In other words see their taxes increase substantially. I have personally always believed that basing what one pays in taxes in a community based on the value of the home they decide to build or purchase is not a good system. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Joe, I asked Dan after the meeting today how he could possibly think that over 50% of us would vote to disinfranchise ourselves. He said we could save ourselves a lot of money because of waterfront properties.....???? The question still remains...."why would we cut ourselves out of our own "government"?? What do the waterfront lots have to do with it? I didn't even ask him because it ain't gonna happen. Nancy |
