Hi Rick, Sorry I didn't get to talk to you yesterday. I was sitting in back of you ...but you ducked out early and missed all the chit chat. I noticed that you are sporting something new. So Dan thinks the folks with larger homes should pay more for the amenities and services that we all receive. Do they use any more goodies than the rest of us??? I think NOT. They pay for the elec. and water they use, and I doubt they wear down the roads any more than the rest of us. Is he the OP Robin Hood? Take from the rich and give to the poor??? His comment about non-residents is absolutely unbelievable. It is clear that he did not represent us at all during his tenure on the BoD. Nancy |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: What do the waterfront lots have to do with it? It might be this. The comments about homes and taxes are from an article in Ocean City Today, Saturday, August 11, 2007. The first paragraph and all the quotes are Dan. Home owners in the town of Ocean Pines would pay city taxes instead of annual assessment fees and taxes would be based on the value of homes, making it more equitable, Stachurski said. The article and Dan further stated: Opponents say becoming a municipality would disenfranchise 53 percent of the Ocean Pines property owners who don’t live in the community full time because they would not be able to vote. |
