Marty Since then Mr. Englishman has taken up the gauntlet. He has investigated privately owned land on 589 as well as the Ocean Pines parcel which was to be auctioned last year. Is it possible to work a deal such that the OPVFD builds a new consolidated fire station (combine the North and South Stations) on the rte. 589 parcel OPA owns and OPA acquires the South Station and converts it to whatever - a hall, gym, etc.? This - along with rehabing the current CH - might give OPA enough space to meet its needs in the foreseeable future. Just brain fodder... Gene |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Joe: "However, where will the northside fire station be located?" Initially we had hoped, and actually voted to give the OPVFD the land between the existing hall and Ocean Parkway, however, when we had our meeting at the County it became apparent to all that it would not fit at that location. Since then Mr. Englishman has taken up the gauntlet. He has investigated privately owned land on 589 as well as the Ocean Pines parcel which was to be auctioned last year. I think he is currently working with us the feasibility of a piece located at the south east corner of White Horse Park. Marty |
