Rick, Well do you favor OPA paying the taxes? The use of the word "expert" was in reference to the Joe Reynolds use of the term in the quote you referenced. At least twelve individuals had the opportunity to review the document and I know at least four who went through it in detail. I was simply stating that at least one of those Joe deemed as an "expert" had reviewed that passage and I provided that individual's reasoning. Ted

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: How does this jive with the top quote where you appear to be agreeing we should pay the taxes? My reply of, "Probably not. Or they just don't get it or they just don't care." was in response to Joe's question, "Do you think such analysis came up when all the OPA experts were examining this latest lease?" I made no comment one way or the other regarding whether I favor OPA paying the taxes. ........one OPA "expert" did consider the tax clause. One expert! So OPA made their decision based upon the opinion of one person. Don't you think if OPA had consulted more than one person they might have gotten some different opinions, ideas or suggestions? I realize this might be a shock to some but people see thinks from different perspectives. I guess nobody in OPA has ever heard the expression "two heads are better than one." One person? Incredible! I rent commercial office space and also storage yard space so I know this is a fact. I know from experience with leases for commercial buildings that one can include almost anything in a lease for the lessee to pay. In some cases the lessee has been made responsible for all maintenance and repairs to the building while the lease was in force, including such things as if the building air-conditioning system goes down it is the responsibility of the lessee to fix it. Let's hope whomever has signed the lease for Seacrets has signature authority and a problem similar to the YMCA lease does not present itself. |
