Hummm. Was your experience with gambling a part of your allocation efforts at the phone company. Now, let me ask why a BUDGET should include income from funds received during the prior year but not in the prior year budget, even though it was known the funds would be received. Why not exclude beach parking profit from the budget as well. Then that would be one more "real number." Why not do the budget at the end of the fiscal year and have all "real numbers" to work with. Chuck, a budget should be the most realistic view possible of income and expenses for the fiscal year. To exclude a known income source for what amounts to no more than political purposes is to force association members to pay higher than necessary assessments.... and a PRIMARY purpose of OPA's budget is to establish the assessment. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: To get back on topic, IMHO the slots revenuewe should accumulate in an account and not be included it in a budget until the next year. That would work well since that appears to be the way OPA has started. It would provide the Budget with at least one real number. My expirence with gambling has taught me that any revenue from that source is extremely volitile. |
