I think the original plan called for replacement, above ground, for around $300,000 to $350,000.
It makes little sense to me to spend $300,000 or so to put new baths in front of an old Beach Club. Once one gets into that kind of money (and $200,000 for paving), seems it would make sense to perhaps look as well into the cost of a new structure. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: The first time I ever used the Beach Club bathroom was in June of 1969. It has changed little since then...except for the nice new sink area and new mirrors. Hi Nancy, You seem to have fond memories of the Beach Club. I think after 44 years it would be nice for loyal Beach Club members like yourself to have something more modern and functional then faux marble sinks. You are certainly more tolerant than I. I've only used the same facilities for about 12 years. I can't think of a way to "renovate" an underground bathroom that would make any sense. I might have used the word "renovate" but there was a plan to replace. I think the original plan called for replacement, above ground, for around $300,000 to $350,000. I think that has now escaladed to substantially more. Norm |
