There is only so much you can do to clean off your feet when you are at the beach. I would never think of entering the bathroom with bare feet, so I guess I would need to stop at the shower station, remove my sandals and then wash the sand off from the bottom. I would then walk 3 feet and they would be covered with sand again.
It's nice that you can avoid the busy times at the beach, I assume you are a full-time resident. Part-time residents don't have the same flexibility. I'm not whining, I chose to purchase a home in OP 2 years ago. I love it! I don't know for sure, but I bet that many part-time residents use the beach club heavily while not using the other amenities as much. Hi Kevin, For women, cleaning feet is only part of the problem. Our suits collect huge amounts of sand and that is a big problem in the shower area. There is not much we can do about that. The bath house is always going to be a mess....so you go in ..and get out as soon as possible! No...I am not a full time person, but I always go to the beach later in the aftenoon when it is not so busy. Things are much less crowded then. I am glad that you love Ocean Pines. I fell in love with it at first glance and that has never changed. We were White Horse Park campers in the "olden days" before there many houses were built and our children had wonderful summers. Our daughter and her husband bought a house in OP a couple of years ago. I hope your family will be as happy in Ocean Pines as we have been. Nancy |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Nancy, The first time I ever used the Beach Club bathroom was in June of 1969. Of course..there was little sand in there because there were not many people using the place. It has changed little since then...except for the nice new sink area and new mirrors. With all due respect, I think a 44 year old underground beach bathroom that lasts 44 years with little changes may be due for an upgrade.

For the record, I don't believe the Beach Club should be torn down. However, I do believe that an amenity that is used by so many, and accounts for it's own expenses, should live up to acceptable standards. The bathroom is very bad by many standards. Thanks Kevin |
