I have expressed my concerns to the board and have so far gotten two responses...one pro, one con. One concern that I expressed is the fact that at the yacht club given the lower price point and quicker service this will be in direct competition with the food service employees who rely on gratuities. Professional and competent staff will be harder to recruit and retain...thus making existing service problems worse. The law of unintended consequences. In the end it is optional, not necessary. Not where capital dollars should be spent. | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Doug, I remember your request yesterday concerning the replacement reserve study. I too would like to review the study because I have experience in reserve studies and how they affect replacement reserve budgets. The more eyes, the better. When Miller-Dodson conducted The Parke study years ago, they missed tens of thousand of dollars of replacement items and used the wrong basis for economic life (ocean salt water decreases longevity). We did an indepth study last year to get it right. As for the Food Truck, the details of the request is at the 3 hour 2 minute mark of yesterday's budget meeting and Bob will be discussing the concept at the Town Hall tomorrow. Tom |
