So back to our discussion. A board member said they had received a lot of negative feedback but it still was approved by the board. I think that was my point.

And the comment about it maybe not being spent indicates they will wait until the negative sentiment dies down. Something akin to what you describe as now about to happen at the tennis court complex. There are many people who oppose the expansion but it will happen anyway. Like the YC, it will cost more than the $250,000 approved but we will never know because it will be buried in the maintenance actuals which the board never pays attention to.

Posting a meaningless budget is a meaningless exercise if the intention is to really ignore the comments and do what a majority of the board and the GM wants to do. I understand your frustration at not having a budget posted as the rules require but if the party in power treats the budget as a meaningless document, nothing is gained. Better to devote all your energies to replacing the party in power.

Yes. I saw that. If this is not a prime example of board stupidity, what is?

The other interesting news is that Thompson is planning on doing the racquet sports complex piecemeal, using Public Works people. I guess public works people have nothing else to do, with a large proportion of labor and equipment just sitting around.

We need new management.
