The other interesting news is that Thompson is planning on doing the racquet sports complex piecemeal, using Public Works people.
I found that an interesting if not amusing exercise in financial gymnastics. One plans to spend $250,000 for a project but the bid comes in at $750,000. So instead of deciding that amount is too expensive or scaling back the project the solution is to spread it out over a couple years. Still spending $750,000. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: but the impression was that they had received a LOT of negative feedback from the community and I believe an implication that just because it was approved did not mean the money would be spent. Yes. I saw that. If this is not a prime example of board stupidity, what is? The other interesting news is that Thompson is planning on doing the racquet sports complex piecemeal, using Public Works people. I guess public works people have nothing else to do, with a large proportion of labor and equipment just sitting around. We need new management. |
