This makes one of the issues for OP very clear. OPA members pay for Park & Rec services that are a duplication of services we already pay for with our Worcester Cnty taxes. Therefore, the question is do members feel the need/desire for this duplication of services and if so, do we feel it's worth the money we pay for it? This applies to other OPA services as well. This might be easier to accept if those same services weren't available to everyone who didn't pay an assessment fee.
I'm still trying to weigh the pros and cons in my own mind. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Marty, The fact that this information was provided during the OCEAN PINES Budget review process and it was worded as "OCEAN PINES spends $73.32 per resident" to provide parks and recreation services, it is my impression that it is exactly as stated. The exact dollar amount stated for Worcester County expenditure per resident for parks and recreation services was $32.88. Tom |
