For example, how many registrations for the skate board park are from association members and how many not association members? Do you know? Are such numbers ever even discussed? Joe
Hi Joe, Don't forget that the money for the Skate Board Park was raised by folks from all over the area. There were fund raisers all over the place, some restaurants in Ocean City even contributed to the pot of money. We ate pizzas, got cars washed and every other creative idea to raise that money. I believe there was even some money from the Del. side that came into it. I am much more concerned that OUTSIDERS are using out boat ramp! Only OP has paid for that. That is a crowded area on weekends in summer and OP PROPERTY OWNERS SHOULD NOT be inconvenienced by the presence of those who do not pay for the amenity! A mistake was make several years ago when a brochure put out by the county or state listed our boat ramp as "PUBLIC". So....people came, and we need to put a stop to it. Even those who do not actually use "the ramp" are inconvenienced. Kayakers need to get in there to put in at the water and park while paddling. We do not tie up the ramp at all because we just stop close to the water, put the kayak down and go park the car. The ramp is very busy with folks with motor boats. We do not need ANY EXTRA people in there. We all have Property Owner Cards, so they can be used for identifying who should be at the ramp. Other cars should be ticketed if the sign clearly states that the area is only FOR OP PROPERTY OWNERS. If that can't work, we could have a card that would open the gate. That could be gotten up when we pay our assessments and pick up our updated swim cards, beach club passes etc. There is no excuse to have outsiders cluttering up a BUSY place that they do not pay to use! For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: For programs that require registration; and usually a corresponding payments, residency can be determined and verified. I think Jack was looking for some specifics and whether the numbers of association member use versus non-association member use are discussed. For example, how many registrations for the skate board park are from association members and how many not association members? Do you know? Are such numbers ever even discussed? |
