Contrary to Mr. Reynolds assetting there has never been an honest attempt to sell them.
I do not recall saying that. In fact, I have stated the exact opposite. However, if you have a message reference, please let me know. My guess is the back lots would easly bring an average of $35,000 If these lots are so inexpensive, how come no builder has purchased for new homes? I know of two or three on Watertown Road. Those are underwater all year. the waterfronts around $150,000. Today they are worthless to the OPA. A waterfront lot just up the street from me is up for sale at around $300,000; it is just across the street from the near valueless flooded lots I mentioned above. All that said, OPA should sell those lots for any price, even to the point of giving them away. Why? Because now those lots pay zero assessment. In private hands, they would produce $1000 a year in assessments each. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Steve: The last time I saw the list was back when Director Collins was trying to make a proposal to liquidate them. I believe there was 20 or so then. Contrary to Mr. Reynolds assetting there has never been an honest attempt to sell them. At one time OPA claimed they could sell them for $150,000 each which was insane. My guess is the back lots would easly bring an average of $35,000 and the waterfronts around $150,000. Today they are worthless to the OPA. Marty |
