Kerry:
Thank you for the history lesson. Off the top of my head I can think of at least three times over the past 20 years OPA has conducted major engineering studies and come to the same conclusion. Unfortunately, OPA suffers from a lack of institutional memory. A board many years ago had no problem attacking a drainage problem on our golf course costing well over the referendum trigger amount. They avoided that inconvenience by “phasing“ the work. That drainage problem was a direct result of a flawed turn over agreement with the developers of the Interlinks and shouldn’t have cost OPA a dime. Thanks again. Marty |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Joe, I forgot to answer you last question about the Yacht Club or the drainage. I had many homeowners ask me the same thing for sure. I had many also say we ( OPA ) would spend a million dollars to grow grass for 100 people to hit a white ball around but we would not spend 50 cents to keep there house from washing away! One homeowner told me one time that we spent more on irrigation trying to water the golf course then we did trying to fix a pipe that ran by his house. The words he used I will not post. |
