Tom, you obviously have not been paying attention. OPA could have bought that property for under $2 million. It is currently approved for new homes. OPA could have used that land to remove flood waters. Now the only possible viable option is $20 million or more pipe down Beauchamp Road. (My apologies. The amount a decade ago was $4 million, not $14 and the cost today was estimated to be around $8 million.) | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Marty Thanks for bringing up that fiasco. And a BIG YES. That's the kind of expenditure where the board powers need to be limited. That's at the center of the upcoming referendum. Maybe you can outline some more of those details, of how there was some hidden negotiating, and there was almost a major commitment made, behind the scenes. Been a while ago, so we need a bit more info to recall of those facts. Several questions like: How much was the price tag for that piece of golf course land?? What was the zoning?? What purpose, beside golf would that land be used for?? Thanks, Tom |
