Off hand, 50 sounds too high. Your 7 acre example seems more reasonable. I'd guess we would need to consult another source, for example, a land surveyor. If there's any retired land surveyor's reading this, maybe ride thru that area and take a look. Seems we should be dropping that reference to 2 inch rains from one acre, since there seems a much larger area is involved. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: How many acres in the pond watershed? Wild guess - over 50. Two inches of rain on near 7 acre watershed could fill the 50,000 cubic feet addition in a matter of hours based on the numbers you provided. As I said, the increased pond capacity should help. The question is how long will flooding be delayed in a heavy rainfal of the amount that caused flooding in the past? Seems to me whoever designed the project should know all this. The increased pond capacity does little or nothing to help get the water out of OP. Time will tell. |
