Section 5: OPA Board Subject: Election Vote Count Questioned Msg# 1170991

Only the board can authorize a recount. Nor do the bylaws address a recount well after new board members are seated.
As for certification of the election results, that took place at the annual meeting. Since a quorum was present, the required validation took place as well. Upon reflection, at this point, perhaps a recount of the paper is not in the best interests of our association. If there is a legal issue, let it be brought by someone with the right to do so, perhaps a candidate or association member. While there was some hysteria over proposed bylaw change related to spouse felonies, ridiculous in my opinion, there are other areas of the bylaws needing clarification that went ignored in the last go round. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: There is no way to determine what was wrong without a total do over of the counting process - and I doubt that will happen. More likely just some after-the-fact explanation. Take it or leave it. There is nothing wrong with a total do over of the counting process for validation! If the counts are wrong then lets find out where the counts are off and not just back into some number. This is not rocket science and if there is nothing to hide then do the recount and lets get it verified. |
