Tom, stop the spin. There are no wind turbines off the Carolinas coast at this time. Thus there is NOTHING to indicate any resort economy there has been harmed by any offshore project.
Are you trying to help those advocating for these projects with your baseless speculation, or what? |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Are there wind farms off the coast of the Carolinas? Plans are in motion for the Virginia wind project being built for Dominion energy to be supplemented by a new tract of acreage. Quotes: "the (Dominion) utility stated it will purchase from Avangrid a 40,000-acre lease area that could produce 800 megawatts of electricity off the coast of North Carolina for a price of about $160 million, including $117 million in acquisition and $43 million in development reimbursement costs." "The Avangrid lease area Dominion is acquiring, located about 36 miles from the shore of Virginia Beach and 27 miles off the coast of North Carolina, is called Kitty Hawk North Wind but will be renamed CVOW-South." Click Here So the earlier mileage can be corrected to 27 miles offshore, instead of 26 miles, a minor change |
