I don't know any more than the rest of you about why our golf course is in such sad shape. But I do know that several premier golf courses on the East Coast, some of which have hosted U.S. Open tournaments, are looking bad too. The superintendents at those courses are among the industry elite. I looked at a Web site that has reviews Maryland golf courses. The vast majority of the reviews were negative with respect to course conditions. This review was particularly interesting:
The current golf pro at Ocean Pines worked at this course and was promoted by Casper to come here. A sad coincidence, at least, or maybe bad karma. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Jack: "This is prime time for golf packages and Casper may feel it is better to say nothing which could hurt them in the longer term" I have heard that the course is so bad that we just cancelled a previously booked outside golf tournament for a local Realtor group and sent them, and their business to River Run. At the same time we are still spending our hard earned assessment dollars on advertising for outside play on the television? Would somebody please ask Nurse Ratched what the HELL is going on? Marty |
