I did not tell you how to practice anything. We have a simple difference of opinion... and neither opinion is better than the other one... only different.
I am getting tired of all the opinions about what the future holds. NONE of us know what that is. I believe it might hold positive results for the Y/C and I am personally willing to take that chance. You may strike a different balance and that is OK. I do not know how much a quality rehab would actually cost. One of the bids was for $2.7M... Don't know if it was a good bid or not... but any rehab is on top of an old building that is not in very good shape and I just do not think that is the right thing to do here. We will have to agree to disagree. Jeff Knepper |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Jeff: With all due respect, I promise to not try and tell you how to practice your profession, so please don't tell me how to do mine. Even a brand new building will need to be maintained over its life, which normally is way longer then 40 years. I can not remember a building, out side of a disaster scenario, that was torn down after just 40 years. Can you? In my professional opinion the $1.1 Million Dollar renovation I have suggested, if coupled with proper maintenance, will allow our current Yacht Club facility many many more years of service. Marty |
