I don't disagree with what you are saying. My contention is that even if you get the GM/Board to abide by the letter of the law, they will not abide by the spirit of the law. I really didn't think I needed to explain that to you but since you have sent me three messages on my message, I guess I do.
I can't remember when, in the 30 years I've been associated with OP that a groundswell of opinion that originated from the published budget resulted in changes. Concerned Citizens, STOP, etc. were motivated by individual events not a budget that was posted within the required notice period. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Even if you forced the ruling gentry to abide by that reg, I'd be surprised if they altered one line in the proposed budget as a result. Your argument fails in that the law requires the association to provide the proposed budget to association members. If more than 10 or 20 people actually saw the budget perhaps there might be some impact on the budget. You are assuming that a truly informed group of association members will never have an impact. I don't agree. |
