Joe,
If we had been allowing "the public" to rent parking space and go to the pools....we would NOT have been in trouble with the IRS. That is what the whole thing was about...Excluding the Public! The BoD would have been very quick to point that out to the IRS and it is most likely that we would NOT have opened up EVERYTHING WE HAVE TO THE PUBLIC. ( not that we really had to do it.) They would have been satisfied because it was ONLY about the Ocean City property. Any outsider who got a pass was not doing it with OPA knowledge. Nancy |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: 2016-2017 Associate Amenity Membership Application Associate or Non-Property Owner Amenity Membership Application for golf, swim, tennis, platform tennis, pickleball or Beach Club parking The associate memberships are for those who rent in OP. Someone in OC who is not an association member and who does not rent a home in OP from an association member cannot get the parking. Renters have more or less the same rights as association members when it comes to amenities, but I'm not sure about the parking. How would this person in OC qualify as an associate member? Could it be the person gave incorrect info about renting in OP to scam the system? |
