Section 5: OPA Board Subject: Bainbridge Drainage Msg# 1098232

Maybe the discussions could be reopened...the houses on old golf course have not been started yet. I am wondering if there is enough water for all the planned residential and commercial development from the OP water plant. I read the county wanted more water to sell without expanding the plant. | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Joe, why is the old golf course not an option for water run off? For starters, we don't own the property. There are legal issues for the developer/owner. If he sold a chunk to OPA for the drainage project or even gave it to OPA, it would reduce the number of homes he can build. There are also some issues with leasing any land to OPA. When the project was conceived OPA was apparently told by the county, or someone, that OPA could dump water in a pond created by the builder for his project. Seems that was the basis of the entire engineering study we paid for. |
