You are correct in that neither of us knows both sides of what transpired in the meeting that followed my meeting on June 30. Here is what I do know about my meeting. It was not about a resident's complaint that could have been handled without escalation to the GM. It began and ended as a discussion about the reasons for a change in swim card expiration policy, the potential financial downside to the change in policy and alternatives to the policy that management might consider.
There was no basis in fact for director Perrone to "counsel Ms. Phillips that she should be able to handle certain types of matters without escalating them up the chain" in the meeting that followed my meeting. In fact, there should never have been a second meeting from which Ms. Phillips' grievance arose. Heck if anything the four of them should have congratulated themselves for hearing the resident out, maybe learned something they didn't consider and made note to revisit the policy in the near future. |
