Your post again suggests Thompson did not know what was going on. As I wrote to Ted -- that idea is pure nonsense.
Back on January 8th some 31 association members attended a special board meeting about golf management. Most were golfers. Eight made public comments. One of those making public comments was Pete Gomsak. All spoke in favor of keeping Casper. After public comments the board went into closed session to discuss those seeking to manage the course. Thompson was there. Then on February 14th, in response to a Jack Collins statement where he said he wanted transparency in the process, the board held a public hearing and all three of the companies under consideration made presentations; golfers and other association members had an opportunity to ask them questions. Thompson was there. Then on February 20th the board met in open session, took public comments, and then moved to private session to choose a golf management company. I was there. No golfers or others were. I made public comments suggesting the board consider keeping Casper for another year. Thompson was there. I would think Thompson prepared the RFP that resulted in the management firms under discussion. To repeat -- suggesting that Bob Thompson was not involved is pure nonsense. Thompson, on the contrary, was doing everything in his power to try and keep Casper on the payroll. He seemed almost obsessed with the notion, something I could not quite understand. He lost, and now it is sour grapes in a very public way. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: What concerns me is that Jack Collins, who I believe chaired the group, didn't come right out when Thompson lobbed the ball across the plate and respond with a detailed explanation of the vetting process to close the door on that line of questioning. While I did not mention Mr. Collins by name, this is exactly what my thoughts have been. When Thompson asked if this had been done, no one answered Yes. It leaves us with the thought that perhaps it was not done. That, to me, is very troubling. Is it any wonder this place is in constant turmoil where the game is always to put the other person in a bad light. Exactly!! |
